Toyota recalls 5.8 million cars over faulty Takata airbags

Toyota is one more time recalling 5.8 million cars from all over the world due to faulty air bags installed in it. The bags are made by Takata. The recalled models consist of the Corolla and the subcompact models of Yaris. These affected cars were manufactured between 2000, May and 2001, November and between 2006, April and 2014, December.

So far 12 car manufacturers have recalled vehicles due to faulty airbags by Takata. The total number of recalled cars is anticipated to go beyond 100 million cars. Takata is facing large compensation price for its airbags faults, which have said to cause around 16 deaths around the world.

Several automakers like Honda and Ford have informed that they will stop using Takata airbags Which contain ammonium nitrate.
