The US naval base secluded temporarily in Japan

On Thursday, the US military base in Southern Japan was secluded temporarily ensuing the reports of gunshots. On further investigation it was found that no shots were fire and hence was declared “all clear”.

Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo Japan mentioned in a Facebook post that on November 3, 2016, at 9:33 AM, a report was received by the security about gunshots heard inside building 141. As soon as the report was received, the building was cleared with immediate effect.

The Facebook post also mentioned that “THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!”

Soon it was notified that the lockdown was withdrawn, as there were no evidences of fired shots or any presence of shooter. It was also mentioned that no injuries were observed and reported.

Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo is a US naval base for logistics. It is situated in the Southwestern Japanese city of Sasebo, Nagasaki prefecture. Sasebo is nearly 950 kilometres to the southwest of Tokyo.
